DAF Trucks is a Dutch truck manufacturer and a branch of PACCAR, one of the world's major producers of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. Hub van Doorne and his brother, Wim, started DAF Trucks in 1928 as a modest technical workshop in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. In Dutch, the word "DAF" means "Van Doorne's Aanhangwagen Fabriek" (Van Doorne's Trailer Factory).
The DAF logo features a bold wordmark in a custom sans-serif typeface. The logo conveys the power, spaciousness, and reliability of the trucks, promising the driver's confidence on the road when transporting goods.
The DAF Logo serves as the visual backbone of the brand’s identity, reflecting the brand’s core values, mission, and ambition in a single, bold symbol. The design components, such as lines and composition, convey trust, dependability, and progressive qualities, and the color palette represents key brand attributes such as sustainability, growth, and authenticity.
