NYIT Bears is the name of the athletic teams that represent the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), a private research university with campuses in New York City and Long Island, New York. The athletic program at the institution consists of 13 varsity sports teams that play in NCAA Division II as members of the East Coast Conference. The teams are known as the "Bears," and its mascot is a bear named "Buddy." Basketball, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, and tennis are some of the sports available at NYIT.
