Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is a distance learning institution in New Delhi, India. IGNOU was founded in 1985 and is named after Indira Gandhi, India’s previous Prime Minister. Through open and online learning, the university provides a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programs.
The IGNOU logo has a sky-blue color with a mix of Hindi alphabets surrounded by the English alphabet O. The IGNOU logo is intended to express the university’s fundamental ideals as well as its respect for its history and past.
The logo has a three-leveled inscription with the abbreviation in lowercase and the phrase “The People’s University” in uppercase but smaller size.
