Egypt flag is made up of three horizontal stripes that are equal width. The stripes are red on top, white in the middle, and black on the bottom. The Eagle of Saladin, a golden eagle facing the hoist side of the flag, is a national emblem in the center of the white stripe. The eagle's claws are holding a golden scroll with the Arabic words "Arab Republic of Egypt" engraved on it. Egypt's current flag was adopted on October 4, 1984.
