The alliance was founded in 1997 and is headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany. Several of the biggest and most well-known airlines in the world are members of Star Alliance, including Air Canada, United Airlines, Lufthansa, ANA, Thai Airways, and Singapore Airlines, among others. Frequent fliers who belong to the alliance receive a wide range of perks, such as access to a huge network of routes and locations, reciprocal lounge access, and the chance to accrue and use miles on flights operated by other alliance members.
